Congratulations Jake and Ari, on your many milestones! Here's a thought for a future newsletter or video:
When women enter perimenopause and menopause as early as their mid-thirties, their symptoms are often misdiagnosed as depression or worse. I'd love to see you interview one of the MDs who specialize in treatments, and the HUGE intersection with your skills and practice. Mary Claire Haver MD or Lauren Streicher MD come to mind. Both are active on social media.
Once again I reiterate your suggestions for a healthy diet are likely valid, however I don't believe the 'average' citizen can access the items recommended.
First, there is a cost factor & many don't have access to grocery stores that likely stock these items.
Personal example, in 2000 yep 25 yr's ago I join a group that cycled across Canada...coast to coast. Truly, a lifetime of memories. I enjoyed the cycling, not the camping, other had past physical challenges to overcome & their achievements are much more admirable... they remain my heroes!
66 days with 10 rest days...breakfasts varied, often cereal and eggs.
I ate peanut butter & jam daily for every ride, Carnation Instant b-fast mixed in chocolate milk carried me to lunch.
My point, nothing fancy, simple food with a mix of protein & carbohydrates.
I am not an elite athlete, continue to cycle.
Original Fig Newton's are a perfect cycling companion. I still enjoy P & J sandwiches.
I finished that journey above without loosing weight, along with a similar body fat/muscle composition.
You should cover the “mental health” issue involving a late 80’s man who thinks he’s experiencing signs of dementia. Knowing it’s progressive, should society try to prevent that man from “dying with dignity”?
Should law require intervention by a mental health professional to determine if the man’s decision-making ability is distorted from depression?
Hi Dr. Jake!
I would love to read about possible new developments in Tourette’s treatment or our understanding of it if possible! :)
Thank you Ava! I will add this to my list of future newsletter topics!
