New baby. New house. New city. New business. All at once…
Someone recently asked me how I’m keeping it together, and the truth is, I’ve been leaning hard on one mindset shift to stay balanced through it all. Today we are going to dive in to the mindset called — “Living in the AND”. But first, some exciting news:

The Mindset Shift You Need:
Now, something that’s been helping me lately, and I think it might help you too.
These past few weeks, I’ve been learning how to juggle new fatherhood, being a husband, running a business, creating content, and trying not to overwater my garden. I’m doing my best but it’s not always pretty.
And when things get hard, I keep coming back to a mindset that’s helped me again and again, both personally and professionally. I teach it to my clients all the time. It’s called:
Living in the “AND.”
It’s the idea that life doesn’t have to be either/or.
It can be both.
You can love your job AND feel overwhelmed.
You can be grateful for your life AND still feel exhausted.
You can love your child deeply AND admit that parenting is incredibly hard.
We have not had the smoothest ride the first few weeks of parenthood. When our baby Leo was crying for hours on end, inconsolable, and we didn’t know what to do, my brain wanted to label that whole week as bad. But that wasn’t the full truth. That same week, we took him on his first walk. He smiled in his sleep. He met my parents.
It wasn’t all bad. It wasn’t all good.
It was BOTH.
This mindset — living in the AND — helps you see your life more fully. It softens self-judgment. It gives space for joy even in the chaos. And it reminds you that just because something is hard doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
So this week, maybe try it:
When your brain wants to go black-and-white, all or nothing, gently invite in the AND.
It’s more honest. It’s more human.
And it might just change everything.

Parenting is full of lessons. Be gentle with yourselves- he’s a very new person and you’re very new at parenting. We never really ‘complete’ our degree in parenting, because there will always be new things we experience—even (especially? lol) when our children are over 18! 😅
Becoming a parent helped me realize that modulating my expectations leads to acceptance, which generally means a less anxious, more content me. If I, mother of a new baby, expected my day to progress in a certain way, of course I’d end up overwhelmed and frustrated because babies are on their own journey getting accustomed to extra-uterine life. I started to expect that I wasn’t likely to control every part of our days, and that acceptance led me to enjoying them much more.
This is so interesting because I keep seeing this exact message everywhere. So I am also practicing to hold it all: the love, even in a fight when I am angry. The exhaustion, while loving my work as a me Tal Health and Travel writer, the fear and the doubt, while keeping faith . It’s a game changer! Thanks for posting this 🙏🏻❤️
